Essential to the construction process is a well-coordinated set of plans with complete specifications and accuracy designed to minimize change orders and optimize field administration. MBC offers its clients a Constructability Review Program which is as a cross check of construction documents for accuracy and completeness that focuses on systems coordination issues. Upon completion of all construction documents and prior to contractor bidding, this process is employed to identify potential coordination issues such as missed construction details, time delays, potential liability, and inter-contractor coordination items. The design team then reviews and implements appropriate changes to the documents

• Reviewing plans and specifications to assess the ease or difficulty of constructing the proposed design with recommendations for practical changes.
• Reviewing documents for any observed inconsistencies.
• Making recommendations for the use of more cost-effective alternative materials or design details.
• Making recommendations for specification changes when the proposed specifications are likely to cause
  excessive costs and/or delays.
• Reviewing documents for completeness. Comprehensive and accurate documentation results in more responsive and complete bids. The goal is to eliminate all coordination problems prior to the start of construction.

On average a typical project not having prior constructability review will have five coordination errors per contract drawing. Our review can identify these inaccuracies that may result in dollar savings from petential change orders. This interdisciplinary review is an indepth examination of all construction documents which assesses each building system independently, and its appropriateness to the entire project.
